Danish Defence choose UNIC and Lissner

UNIC URW 1006

A fleet of UNIC URW-1006 mini spider cranes have been sold to the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and logistics Organisation (FMI) in Denmark.

These green UNIC mini cranes will be used by military staff to help repair and maintain vital machinery for Defence Operations.

The UNIC URW-1006 mini crane is extremely portable and quick to set up, their versatility and 10 tonne lifting capacity make them ideal for a wide range of military applications, as does their ability to handle a variety of environments, from arctic to desert conditions.

This unrivalled mini crane also has a unique pick and carry function which enables it to travel with loads up to 1.5 tonnes. Its configurable outriggers provide maximum stability when lifting on rugged terrain thanks to their full safety interlocking system.

The four-year deal was made through UNIC Cranes Europe Danish Dealer, Lissner and will see the delivery of many machines over the coming months.

Lissner owner Morten Lissner said: “We are very happy with the agreement with FMI and feel that we are

well prepared to accomplish the job which will be an exciting challenge for our service team.”

UNIC Cranes Europe chief executive Graeme Riley said: “It is a real accomplishment for us as the master European distributor for UNIC cranes to have our machines successfully make the grade with the Danish Ministry of Defence. We have been working with Lissner and DALO on this opportunity for over 3 years. Lissner and UNIC Cranes Europe will be here to provide support and training along the way to ensure that our cranes prove to be an effective tool in aiding the Danish military with their work.

“UNIC mini cranes have already proven popular for military applications including essential lifting work for RAF Odiham and Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. A range of UNIC mini cranes were sold to the Ministry of Defence in 2012 to be used for lifting heavy aircraft parts when the Chinook engineering team were performing essential maintenance on their fleet of helicopters”.
