UNIC Spider Mini Cranes SA Install Aquarium at South African Mall
Two UNIC URW-295 (2.9 tonne) mini spider cranes and a UNIC URW-706 (6 tonne) mini spider crane were recently commissioned to help with the installation of a giant aquarium in Johannesburg.
The 75,000 litre tank had to be carefully lifted and manoeuvred into place, to ensure loads were in the perfect position for optimum installation.
Utilising the capacities of both UNIC URW-295 mini spider cranes, intricate lifts were performed, where the steel structure had to be lifted from the first floor, down to the ground floor. The UNIC URW-706 was situated on the first floor to help manoeuvre and place the large structure with perfect control.
Together, this mighty trio ensured these loads were lifted into place with both precision and ease, in time for the grand opening.
The new aquarium now contains over 30 species of fish for shoppers to admire and was officially opened to the public in July 2019.
