Our UAE dealer, Spider Plus, recently completed a challenging project installing glazing for a private villa in Jumeirah, Dubai. With multiple challenges complicating this project Spider Plus identified the best course of action and picked out the perfect crane for the job.
After consulting with the customer Spider Plus found that the URW-295 Mini Spider Crane paired with the MRTA6 Glass Vacuum Lifter would provide all the features needed to take on this task no problem. The URW-295 is one of our most popular cranes in the UNIC range due to its extremely compact size combined with a significant 2.9t lifting capacity.
On site, the Spider Plus team tracked the URW-295 on plywood sheets to the back garden of the private villa. The setup of the crane presented as a challenge due to the presence of a swimming pool and a brick flower bed containing a sizable tree. As the crane would need to be positioned between these two obstacles the crane required very careful positioning to stay stable and avoid hitting the tree branches.

After Spider Plus’s skilled operator successfully set up the crane, they used the URW-295’s user-friendly controls and flexibility to retrieve each glazing unit from a nearby stillage. With the URW-295’s compact size and adaptable outriggers, it was simple to position the crane between the flower bed and the swimming pool. This crane includes the ability to set a working area limitation allowing the operator to easily avoid coming into contact with the tree or other obstacles.
The oversized glazing measured 2.5m × 3m and weighed 385kg making it challenging to handle. Due to the size of the glazing Spider Plus’s team took extra care to manoeuvre it into the window opening. Benefitting from 2.9t of lifting power the URW-295 could lift the heavy glazing units without issue to their needed height.
