In June 2021, KMB’s expertise was called upon during the filming of The Gray Man (2022), which at the time was Netflix’s most expensive original film to date. The scenes were shot in the historic heart of Prague, right in front of the iconic Rudolfinum building.

This cultural landmark, known for its classical architecture and significance in the city’s artistic life, became the setting for a large-scale movie production requiring seamless logistics and careful planning.
To support the set construction, KMB deployed the UNIC URW-706, one of the most powerful spider cranes in our range. Compact yet mighty, the URW-706 can lift up to 6 tonnes and boasts an impressive lifting height of up to 19.5 metres (or 22.7 metres with the optional fly jib), all while maintaining a minimal footprint, making it ideal for sensitive urban environments like Prague’s historic centre.

For this particular job, the crane was used to install an artificial fountain that became part of the film set, adding visual impact and realism to the scene without disturbing the heritage surroundings.

This project was a perfect example of what UNIC spider cranes are built for: delivering heavy lifting power in places where traditional cranes simply can’t go. And it’s also a great showcase of the skill and responsiveness that KMB brings to every challenge, whether it’s working at height on modern glazing installs or operating discreetly on a Hollywood-scale movie set.
