UNIC Cranes recently worked with our dealer Spider Plus on a steel structure installation at the prestigious Madinat Jumeirah resort in Dubai. The project, known as the Tent Build, required the erection of a steel frame and multiple cross beams on an island site within the complex. Each load measured 5 metres by 300 millimetres and weighed 500kg, requiring precise handling and a reliable lifting solution.

A key challenge on this project was access. The only way to reach the site was via a walkway bridge, which had a strict weight limit of 3 tonnes. This restriction meant that conventional cranes were not an option. The lifting equipment needed to be lightweight enough to cross the bridge safely, but still capable of handling heavy steel components.
To meet these requirements, Spider Plus selected the UNIC URW-295, a mini spider crane known for its compact size and impressive lifting power. With a lifting capacity of up to 2.9 tonnes and a lightweight design, the URW-295 was able to cross the bridge without exceeding the weight restrictions. Once in position, it completed the lifting and installation of the steel frame and 500kg cross beams with ease.
The URW-295’s small footprint and precision controls made it ideal for the limited space on-site. Its ability to operate in confined areas and on delicate surfaces without compromising on lifting capacity continues to make it a popular choice for urban and access-restricted construction environments.

This project is a clear example of how UNIC spider cranes provide effective solutions in situations where larger machines can’t be used. Our strong working relationship with Spider Plus ensures that even the most complex lifts in the Middle East are handled efficiently and professionally, using the right equipment for the job.
UNIC Cranes is proud to support dealers like Spider Plus who continue to demonstrate the value of mini spider cranes across a wide range of applications.
