Amazing glazing on every floor
Two compact and portable UNIC mini spider cranes were used to create a glazed lift shaft at a UK university building recently. This pair of mini machines installed 32 glass panels from the ground and upper floors.
Working from the ground floor, a 2.9 tonne capacity UNIC URW-376 mini crane used below-the-hook glass lifters to install glazed panels onto two sides of the elevator shaft. UNIC spider cranes are quick to set up, so this machine could move around into a number of lifting positions with minimum fuss to reach the more awkward installation points.
A UNIC URW-095 spider crane helped to fit the glass from the first and second floors. At just 600mm wide and 1850kg in weight, this 0.995 tonne capacity mini crane was ideal for working on the low point loading areas and could be easily transported in the building’s goods lift.
UNIC mini cranes are often used for working in between floors on elevator glazing projects, like in this Copenhagen shopping centre for example.
