Dinosaur Skeleton Lift with the ECO-095 for Prague Museum
At Dinosauria Museum Prague our Czech Republic dealer was tasked with the installation of a remarkable exhibit. Facing the delicate handling of a real dinosaur skeleton, KMB Stavební Servis s.r.o. rose to the occasion with expertise and precision.
This skeleton was a dinosaur called Edmontosaurus annectens – colloquially known as the Anatosaurus (meaning ‘duck lizard’) – a species of flat-headed saurolophine hadrosaurid dinosaur. Valued at a staggering 70 million Czech crowns it was essential that great care was taken in the handling of this impressive piece.
Demanding a machine that emitted no emissions and offered a compact shape, strength and precision KMB selected the tracked UNIC ECO-095 Mini Spider Crane. Its eco-friendly design ensured the skeleton had no damage from fumes as well as other artefacts within the building.
This crane’s lifting capacity of 0.995 tons and a total width of just 0.75 metres allowed effortless movement around the museum which contained narrow spaces as well as the easy lifting of the individual pieces of the fossil. With a maximum working radius of 8.41 meters and multi-position configurable outriggers, it was the perfect fit for the job. Equipped with low-marking tyres, it left no trace of its presence on the museum’s floor.
Drawing from their extensive experience, KMB Stavební Servis seamlessly orchestrated the lift, ensuring every movement was executed with care and precision. Having previously installed dinosaur exhibits both within the Dinosauria Museum Prague and atop the Harfa department store’s roof, as well as contributing to the Dino Park project in Hungary, KMB’s expertise shone brightly in this project.
Benefiting from KMB’s extensive expertise in the lifting of fragile objects and the diverse applications of the UNIC ECO range the exhibition of ‘Ed’ Edmontosaurus annectens was able to go ahead without delay.
