Expansion For South African UNIC Cranes Dealer
South African UNIC spider mini cranes dealer, Spider Mini Cranes SA, a division of the B&B Group, has announced the opening of a second office in Sebenza, Edenvale, Johannesburg.
The new office premises serves to enhance and to add to the sales, rental and service side of the business, to meet the growing demand for UNIC spider mini cranes across South Africa.
As part of this expansion, the company also took delivery of the world’s biggest spider crane, the UNIC URW-1006 10 tonne.
Bob Fogg CEO of B&B group commented “Over the last few years we have seen an increase in the use of these spider mini cranes in a number of different environments. We formed in 2006 and have mainly been growing by word of mouth. Customers who have used our spider mini cranes often contact us when they have to perform a difficult lift or they need to lift something that conventional cranes cannot complete due to space restrictions and access problems on site”.
“From then these spider mini cranes have been used for a number of niche projects in the South African market, from use in gold mines to use in a processing plant to lift and replace large water valves.
“Two 2.9 tonne spider cranes and a 6 tonne spider crane were recently use in a tandem lift to manoeuvre a large fish tank down from a mezzanine level into an atrium at the Cresta Mall. The spider cranes were also used during the construction of the Cresta Mall, helping to lift and place escalators. The client also used the spider cranes to hoist forklifts between floors”.
He continued “We believe the demand for UNIC spider mini cranes has grown due to their unrivalled versatility and benefits. These mini spider cranes save users time and money because they are able to work underneath roofs without requiring the removal of steelwork, and can be repositioned quickly and easily on site, enabling them to complete projects that would be impossible using a conventional crane”.
“We spotted a niche in the industry for cranes below 10 tons. We believe that the growing demand for UNIC spider mini cranes and their adaptability in a number of different industries across South Africa highlights their versatility and cost-effectiveness” he concluded.
