Germany take a pair of the world’s strongest mini cranes
A pair of UNIC URW-1006 10 tonne capacity mini spider cranes has been sold by UNIC Cranes Europe’s official distributor in Germany, Mini & Mobile Cranes Körner GmbH.
The URW-1006 model is the most powerful in the UNIC range and holds the record as the highest capacity mini spider crane in the world. After purchasing their first UNIC URW-1006 in March 2014, Mini & Mobile Cranes Körner have gone on to purchase another two cranes from UNIC Cranes Europe to sell to German company Heavydrive GmbH who will be using the machines for a special rental project.
Led by Managing Director Dietlind Körner, crane hire and sale company Mini & Mobile Cranes Körner has now been an official UNIC mini crane dealer for 10 years, after buying their first machine back in 2004.
Heavydrive are a glass transport and lifting equipment company based in Donauwörth, Germany. Managing Director Günter Übelacker now has these two 10 tonne UNIC cranes in his fleet as well as several smaller UNIC mini cranes.
The UNIC URW-1006 model was launched into the European market by UNIC Cranes Europe at the Intermat 2012 exhibition in Paris. As well as selling cranes to Germany, distributors in Switzerland and the Netherlands have also purchased a 10 tonne mini crane each.
The URW-1006 model can lift to an impressive 30.7 metre height, has a 24.3 metre reach, has a 2 metre wide chassis and 1.5 tonne pick and carry function. In the past it has been hired to fit high level glazing to city centre apartments, work at an electrical substation and lift cars onto a rooftop at Silverstone race circuit.
