Unic mini cranes have been used to work on a number of projects on the Olympic Park site in preparation for this summer’s London 2012 Olympic Games.
A Unic URW-506 mini crane and Hydraulica 1000 glass vacuum lifter worked in the Olympic Aquatic Centre last year to fit large glass units to the starting blocks of the pool where the swimming competitions will be taking place. Our work even hit the headlines as one of our Technical Managers, Tony Lawrence, made an appearance on BBC Oxford News to talk about how our cranes were being used on site.
The Olympic Stadium and Velodrome venues also used Unic mini cranes to efficiently assist with important lifting tasks, keeping their projects running to schedule. 2.9 tonne capacity Unic URW-376 mini cranes lifted 400 timber trusses for the cycling track at the Velodrome and fitted lighting tracks to seating area stairwells in the Olympic Stadium.
