A Unic URW-376 mini spider crane made its way to Platform 8 at London’s King Cross station recently to help lift a new ornate clock into position.
The 2.9 tonne capacity mini crane was ideal completing this job in no time at all, as its small size meant it could be easily transported through the station and onto the platform which is only just under 8 metres wide.
First the Unic URW-376 raised the clock’s 795kg support beam into position with lifting slings, before moving the 500kg clock to and other fixtures to a 6 metre height onto the structure where all the pieces could be fitted together.
GGR Group’s operators and the Unic mini crane finished the job overnight, so by rush hour the next morning all work was complete with no disruption caused to commuters’ journeys.
