Spider Plus, our UAE dealer for UNIC Cranes Europe, recently completed a project in Madinat Jumeirah, the largest resort in the Emirate of Dubai. With an aluminium structure that needed erecting on a synthetic lawn, the customer required a compact yet strong machine that could access the lift area without damaging the ground or access bridge while still retaining enough power to lift the aluminium.
After accessing this challenge Spider Plus selected two URW-295 Mini Spider Cranes for the job. To ensure efficient and speedy turnaround time Spider Plus knew that two hooks would be better than one and deployed the UNIC URW-295 duo. With a 2.9t capacity and an 8.8m lifting height, these two cranes were able to lift the structure with ease to its final height of 4m.

At 30m in length, the aluminium structure proved challenging to manoeuvre. However, the UNIC URW-295 mini spider cranes were able to work in tandem to precisely lift the longer aluminium beams into place. With sensitive controls for load placement accuracy and Spider Plus’s experienced operator, the lift team safely secured each part of the structure. Equipped with a radio remote control the operator benefitted from freedom of movement with the load, allowing excellent visuals of what was going on at all times.
As the access bridge had a 3000kg capacity a mini crane was essential for this lift. Only weighing 1920kg the URW-295 could comfortably traverse over the low-capacity bridge without any issues. With its outriggers retracted this crane only measures 600mm wide, an ideal feature for tackling confined spaces and hard-to-reach areas.
Thanks to the expertise of Spider Plus and the versatile URW-295 Mini Spider Cranes, the aluminium dome structure was successfully erected. The precision and adaptability of these cranes, combined with the skill of the operator, ensured that the job was completed efficiently and safely, even in such a challenging environment.
