Mini crane makes a splash at water slide installation job
A UNIC mini spider crane was hired to help with a multi-million renovation project at a leisure centre in the UK, using its lifting power to install the swimming pool’s new slide.
A 0.995 tonne capacity UNIC URW-095 mini spider crane was used to lift sections of the slide chute and supporting steel posts to build the new ride. The LPG powered mini crane had the minimal dimensions to work in the limited space available around the pool, lifting loads weighing up to 750kg up to a maximum 6 metre height. The compact crane was used with a combined fly jib and searcher hook to handle the tube sections that needed to be installed close to the ceiling.
To reach this lifting location, the 600mm wide UNIC URW-095 was transported through a set of doors and down and flight of stairs.
UNIC mini crane are often used for construction and glazing work at swimming pools, such as helping transform the Aquatics Centre in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, building staircases at Edinburgh Royal Commonwealth Pool, constructing water slides Qatar water park and installing a movable pool floor at a UK leisure centre.
