A fleet of UNIC URW-376 mini cranes have recently been sold to the Ministry of Defence, who intend to use these versatile mini machines for lifting operations with British Forces.
After undergoing a rigourous testing process, these 2.9 tonne capacity mini cranes have been declared ready for use by the Forces as they meet their strict standard for equipment. Spray painted camouflage green, these custom-made compact cranes retain all the benefits of a standard URW-376 model but have added safety features to ensure that they are fit for purpose. Specially modified for operation in hazardous environments, these UNIC cranes come with a stealth mode which allows lights to be dimmed and audio warning to be turned off so the machine can remain undetected behind enemy lines.
Able to lift heavy machinery and work in congested areas with precision, UNIC mini cranes are proving their worth as practical lifting solutions for projects in the aviation and military industries. Their portability, multi-positionable outriggers suitable for working on uneven ground and ability to be set up quickly in a variety of environments were just some of the reasons why UNIC mini cranes were selected by the MOD.
These lightweight spider cranes also have the compact dimensions to make transport by aircraft easy. At the RAF’s Brize Norton base, these mini cranes were successfully carried both inside aircraft and slung underneath Chinook helicopters with chains and cargo nets.
