A compact and portable Unic URW-095 mini spider crane headed to Howdon Sewage Treatment Works in Northumberland recently to install some steam pipework.
The mini crane and expert operator were hired to work on the largest waste water treatment plant on the east coast of England, lifting 250kg pipe pieces to a 4 metre height for installation along a concrete wall base on the congested site.
As the Unic URW-095 mini crane, measures in at only 600mm wide, it could easily move around the plant and be set up in various awkward locations in between the building structure and machinery thanks to its positionable outriggers.
Unic mini cranes have taken on lifting challenges at other water treatment works in the past, such as lifting steel filter screens in Clydebank, Scotland and helping to install carbon filter systems at Scarborough’s Scalby Mills.
