Working alongside our valued UAE partner Spider Plus, UNIC is proud to share the success of our URW 706-2 spider crane on a newly under-construction mall in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Spider Plus were approached with a request to lift and position multiple steel structure elements weighing between 600kg and 800kg each, all in a space so constrained that conventional cranes simply couldn’t fit.
The URW 706-2’s reputation for precision and agility made it Spider Plus’s go-to solution. Equipped with a fly jib that extends its reach without compromising the crane’s compact footprint, it navigates narrow corridors and low overhangs with ease. Where ordinary lifting equipment would have required extensive rigging or even structural modifications to gain access, the URW’s slim jib and hook profile slid effortlessly into position. This not only saved hours of setup and teardown but also eliminated the need for costly temporary supports or scaffolding.
As the project progressed, the URW 706-2’s tilting option proved to be a great choice for installing steel beams beneath existing overhangs. By adjusting the boom angle on the fly, the operator could gently pivot each load into its precise location, ensuring perfect alignment without disruption to the surrounding structure.
