Two UNIC Mini Cranes Lift Lego Bugatti
Two UNIC URW-095 mini spider cranes helped move a life-size Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron into place at a shopping centre in Prague, Czech Republic.
From midnight to the early hours of the morning, two UNIC mini spider cranes worked tirelessly with a team of operators to lift the LEGO model of a Bugatti Chiron into place. The model consisted of over 1 million pieces of LEGO technic, weighing in at 1.5 tonne- and that’s without the motor and battery.
The UNIC URW- 095 is the ultimate machine for lifting in confined spaces. The mini spider crane boasts an unrivalled lifting height of up to 8.8m, allowing it to access all areas. It’s slender 600mm width and lightweight frame enables the miniature crane to work within the tightest of spaces, which made it the perfect crane for this job!
The outriggers of the UNIC 095 can be secured at different angles, creating optimum positioning within small areas. This was ideal as the mini spider cranes were used to lift the LEGO model car from the first floor of the Centrum Chodov, for a finishing placement on the second floor. Precision and control were key to lifting this magnificent model over the bannister and placing it with perfection.
This project required an age rating of 8+ as 339 different types of LEGO Technic pieces were used to create the Bugatti Chiron copy with 13,438 hours of development and compilation work being put in. The lift required a powerful helping hand, everything that the UNIC 095 represents.
The job was completed in a matter of hours with the gear shift in neutral and the handbrake on for the people of Prague to see the following day.
