UNIC crane lifts railway line warning bells
A UNIC mini crane came to the aid of farmer recently by installing a set of warning bells close to the nearby railway line which runs from Liverpool to Manchester, UK.
To help the farmer transport his equipment and herds of cattle over the railway crossing safely, a UNIC URW-506 spider crane lifted a string of bells between two posts. The height of the bells is the same height as the powered overhead cables on the railway line. If the farmer’s kit makes the bells ring as he goes underneath then this warns him that his equipment is too tall to cross the line safely.
The 3 tonne capacity UNIC URW-506 crane worked on the uneven terrain, lifting a man in a work basket up to fit the row of bells between the poles. The lightweight crane was easily tracked over the farmer’s land without sinking into the soft ground.
