UNIC mini crane dismantled and rebuilt on rooftop
A number of UNIC mini spider cranes were hired to work on multiple floors of the Trinity House office building in Nottingham, UK.
This office building is used by energy provider E.ON and is one of the most environmentally friendly office spaces in the city with an “excellent” BREEAM accreditation. The UNIC mini cranes were used to install glazed facade panels and stone tiles.
Two UNIC mini cranes were required to work on the building’s 33 metre high level 9 rooftop but unfortunately the elevator only went up to level 8. To reach the rooftop, the first UNIC URW-095 mini crane was lifted up by a mobile crane. When a UNIC URW-295 crane was also needed to work on the rooftop, it was dismantled and lifted up section by section by the URW-095 crane. This meant that no road closures were needed to make way for another mobile crane to lift the second crane.
UNIC compact cranes are often used to save time on large office building construction projects like this as they free up tower crane possession and can be easily transported around site.
