Two UNIC mini spider cranes were hired to help with a challenging installation job inside the pumping room of a hydroturbine manufacturer in the UK recently.
UNIC URW-295 and UNIC URW-706 mini cranes were used to lift heavy vessels into position inside this restricted access working area. The 2.9 tonne capacity and 6 tonne capacity cranes were tracked through the factory and moved through doorways just 1.9 metres wide so they could work together to lift each 2.3 tonne vessel in the pumping room.
Three of the vessels had to be placed adjacent to each other on a raised level inside the pumping station, with the final two vessels sitting on a lower level. The pair of mini cranes lifted each tank into an upright position underneath the room’s low ceiling. The crane operating team were able to finish the job in just one day.
