The world’s strongest mini crane, the 10 tonne capacity UNIC URW-1006, was chosen to help lift three luxury cars at national race track Silverstone recently.
The most powerful mini crane in the UNIC range was hired by a promotional events agency to hoist three cars, gaming pods and bundles of staging equipment to a 12 metre height at The Silverstone Wing conference centre. This UNIC model has a generous maximum lifting height of 30.7 metres so was the ideal choice for handling heavy items at this great height.
To safely lift the 1500kg cars into position, a portable car lifting hoist was attached to the UNIC URW-1006. This hoist was specially designed by GGR to be used with UNIC mini spider cranes for lifting vehicles in restricted access areas such as shopping centres.
The 10 tonne mini crane was set up in the British Grand Prix track’s pit lane to lift the loads from the ground to the upper level, then after the event the lifting team returned to Silverstone to remove them again.
