UNIC Mini Crane is Champion Lifter at English Institute of Sport
A UNIC URW-506 mini spider crane was used to lift and install doors at the English Institute of Sport. The institute trains athletes to improve their performance using the very best in science, medicine, technology and engineering. Like UNIC Cranes Europe, the institute aims to deliver the best package of support, delivered by the best people in the best possible environment.
The 3 tonne capacity URW-506 mini crane has a 16 metre maximum lifting height which made it ideal for lifting the doors from the ground floor of the stadium to their installation point on the first floor. The radio control function and safe load indicator on this versatile machine meant that the 300kg, 4 metre long doors were lifted safely. This mini spider crane retains compact dimensions that make UNIC mini spider cranes world leaders for lifting where access is restricted; the URW-506 fits comfortably through a standard double doorway.
The English Institute of Sport team are behind many of Britain’s most successful athletes. In the London Olympic cycle the institute worked with 86% of Team GB’s athletes and all of those that won medals in the 2012 Games. UNIC mini spider cranes put in a lot of work behind the scenes before the start of the London 2012 Games too with jobs on the Olympic Stadium, the Velodrome, the Aquatics Centre, and the Athletes’ village all getting the UNIC Cranes Europe treatment.
